By placing an order through Hold the North Shop, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Please review them carefully before completing your purchase.

1. About Hold the North Shop

Hold the North Shop is a Canadian online merchandise store offering political satire, statement merchandise, Canadian-themed products, and custom-designed items.

Products may include mugs, T-shirts, hoodies, hats, tote bags, stickers, magnets, and other merchandise.

Most products are made to order and are not held as pre-produced inventory.

2. Product Images and Descriptions

We make reasonable efforts to represent products accurately.

Product images may include digital mockups intended to show how a design may appear on the finished item. Actual products may vary slightly in colour, positioning, scale, print appearance, garment shade, or other minor details due to differences in screens and production methods.

Such minor variations are not considered defects.

3. Made-to-Order Products

Most Hold the North Shop products are produced after an order is placed.

Because products are made to order, production times may vary. Orders will not enter production until you have met payment requirements, including applicable taxes.

4. Prices

All prices shown on the website are in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless otherwise stated.

Prices may change at any time without notice. Any price change will not affect an order already accepted and paid.

Promotional prices and discount codes may be subject to separate conditions or expiry dates.

5. GST/HST

GST/HST is not included in the initial website checkout total.

After you place an order, we will calculate the applicable GST or HST based on the shipping destination and invoice it separately.

Customers will receive a separate tax payment request or invoice through PayPal.

Please allow up to one business day for the applicable tax invoice to be sent.

Your merchandise will not enter production until you pay the required GST/HST amount.

By placing an order, you acknowledge and agree that you may need to pay additional GST/HST after the initial checkout transaction.

6. Payment

Initial website payments are processed through PayPal or another payment method the store makes available.

Where applicable, we will invoice GST/HST separately through PayPal.

An order is considered fully paid only after we receive all required product, shipping, and tax amounts.

7. Shipping

Standard shipping within Canada is currently $9.99 CAD on orders under $100.

Orders of $100 CAD or more qualify for free standard shipping within Canada, subject to any exclusions stated on the website.

Shipping rates and free-shipping thresholds may change in the future.

Delivery dates are estimates only. Hold the North Shop is not responsible for delays caused by carriers, weather, production delays, incorrect addresses, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address.

8. Order Processing

Because products are made to order, processing may not begin immediately after checkout.

An order may be held while we:

Confirm payment
Calculate and collect applicable GST/HST
Confirm product availability
Review customization details
Obtain printer approval where required

We reserve the right to cancel and refund an order if we cannot reasonably produce a product.

9. Sizes and Colours

Customers are responsible for selecting the correct size, colour, and product options before completing an order.

Garment sizing may vary between manufacturers.

Where a size guide is provided, customers should review it before ordering.

Because apparel is made to order, exchanges resulting solely from choosing an incorrect size or colour may not be available.

10. Returns, Refunds and Exchanges

Because many products are produced specifically for each order, returns for change of mind may be limited.

If an item arrives damaged, defective, incorrectly printed, or significantly different from what was ordered, please contact Hold the North Shop as soon as possible and provide photographs and order information.

We will review the issue and determine an appropriate solution, which may include replacement, refund, or another resolution.

Custom and personalized merchandise is generally not returnable unless the item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrectly produced.

11. Cancellations and Order Changes

If you need to change or cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible.

Once an item has entered production, cancellation or modification may no longer be possible.

12. Custom Orders

Hold the North Shop may accept requests for custom merchandise.

Custom orders are subject to:

Design review
Product availability
Printer approval
Intellectual property requirements
Applicable production policies

We reserve the right to decline any custom request.

A custom order is not confirmed until you accept the design, price, and other applicable terms.

13. Political and Satirical Content

Hold the North Shop sells merchandise that may contain political commentary, humour, parody, satire, criticism, opinions, or statements relating to Canadian politics, legislation, public policy, public institutions, and public figures.

Products are intended as expressive merchandise and commentary.

Product availability does not guarantee that the same design will remain available indefinitely. Political and current-event merchandise may be changed, updated, or discontinued at any time.

14. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, original Hold the North Shop designs, product graphics, written descriptions, branding, and website content may not be copied, reproduced, resold, or commercially distributed without permission.

Customers submitting custom designs confirm that they have the right to use any text, artwork, logo, photograph, trademark, or other material they provide.

Hold the North Shop may refuse a custom request where ownership or usage rights are unclear.

15. Discount Codes

Discount codes may be subject to eligibility requirements, expiry dates, minimum purchases, product restrictions, or other conditions.

Unless otherwise stated:

You may use only one promotional code per order.
Discount codes cannot be exchanged for cash.
Discounts do not apply retroactively to completed orders.
Shipping and taxes may be excluded from percentage discounts.

Hold the North Shop reserves the right to cancel, modify, or discontinue promotional codes.

16. Affiliate and Referral Codes

Some customers may receive discount codes associated with an approved Hold the North Shop affiliate or referral partner.

Use of an affiliate code may provide the customer with a discount and may result in the referring affiliate receiving a commission.

Affiliate commissions do not increase the customer's purchase price.

Orders using separate promotional or seasonal discount codes may not qualify for affiliate commission.

17. Printer and Supplier Availability

Hold the North Shop uses third-party printers and suppliers to produce merchandise.

Product availability, colours, sizes, materials, print methods, and production times may change without notice.

If a selected product becomes unavailable after an order is placed, we will contact the customer regarding an alternative or refund.

18. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Hold the North Shop is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the website, delayed delivery, third-party shipping services, or product availability.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits any rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer-protection laws.

19. Changes to These Terms

These Terms & Conditions may be updated from time to time.

The version in effect when an order is placed applies to that purchase.
